About the Collection

The Dog Man Series 1–5 Books Collection Set brings together the founding adventures of Dav Pilkey's wildly popular graphic novel series, created by young pranksters George and Harold as a spinoff of the beloved Captain Underpants universe. It all begins when a police officer and his loyal canine partner are both critically injured in the line of duty, and a quick-thinking nurse comes up with an unconventional solution: sewing the dog's head onto the man's body, creating Dog Man, part dog, part man, and all hero.

Across these first five volumes, readers watch Dog Man battle his arch-nemesis, the scheming cat Petey, in increasingly wild and inventive confrontations, while a surprising new dynamic begins to take shape: Petey clones himself to create Li'l Petey, a kind-hearted kitten whose gentle influence slowly begins to soften even the World's Most Evil Cat. Along the way, the growing cast faces evil robots, resurrected villains, and mounting chaos, all while Dog Man and his friends learn valuable lessons about loyalty, family, and the courage to be true to yourself. Blending Dav Pilkey's signature laugh-out-loud humor, dynamic Flip-O-Rama action sequences, and genuine heart, this five-book collection captures the series at its most foundational, laying the groundwork for the beloved saga's evolving cast and themes.
